This committee works at updating the
RTAM Bylaws and Policy Handbook.
Chapter Formation
& Liaison - Chairperson is Pat Bowslaugh.
Assists in
the development of new Chapters. Chapter activities take
place throughout
Manitoba during the course of each year. See the

Editorial-
Chairperson and KIT Editor is Doreen Sage.
The Editorial Committee produces
KIT, the official newsletter of RTAM. It is published
and
mailed to members and others four times a year. Send your articles to the editor for
review.
The committee
focus includes studying issues of importance to the maintenance and
promotion
of the public school system; assisting in the protection of the
right of Manitoba children to an
education which will best prepare them to lead full
and productive lives in Canadian society;
researching areas of concern;
and working to inform RTAM members about educational
issues.
RTAM's emergency medical
travel, dental, life
insurance, and long term care plan information
is
available to
all members. The handbook
Ready, Set,
Retire is distributed to potential
retirees each
year through the
pre-retirement seminars. A French
version is also available.
Is responsible for
attracting new members to RTAM. Over the last 8 years RTAM's
membership has grown from just over 1000 members in 1997 to more
than 6,600
members. The committee looks for ways to improve membership.
This committee
remains current on aspects of teacher pensions, assisting and making
recommendations
to the Board as necessary, and advises RTAM on pension issues.
The committee recommends action on Board
objectives and responds to Board requests,
monitors political issues relevant to RTAM, and advises on emergent
political issues.
Supports Chapters which plan
and put on workshops on wellness, financial and/or
retirement
planning
for
active and retired teachers.

You may get involved in RTAM by volunteering to work on one of the
RTAM committees.
