In
the President's Report I was impressed with his description of the resilience
of the RTAM membership in spite of the lack of empathy by the provincial
government to deal with the issue of the fairness of the COLA. The
breadth of wellness bears the importance of "helping create healthy minds
and bodies". The encouragement of written contribution for the
newsletter is most commendable.
The
2011 ACER-CART AGM by Vaughn Wadelius outlined the essence of the
deliberations and positions taken on issues affecting all retirees and
seniors. Barbara McDole's report on the Wellness Seminar
"Revisiting Past Pleasures" was most informative and enjoyable to
read. The Pensions Committee Chair's Report by
The
Manitoba Normal School Class of 1952 - 1953 Reunion provided for many a lot of
pleasant memories.
For
all who travel the article Emergency Medical Travel Insurance - The Claim
Submission Process was an excellent guide.
Pictures
that accompany the various articles add much to the publication. The
report of Ye Olde Rusty Golf Tournament and the 1951 Normal School Class
Celebrate Diamond Jubilee added to the interest of the articles.
What
a remarkable event that was organized to commemorate
Water
Ambassadors Canada by Barry Hart illustrated the breadth of involvement
throughout the world by the many volunteers who believe that as many of
us do "Volunteerism is the voice of the people put into action. These
actions shape and mold the present into a future of which we can all be
proud.”
